Speaking of getting the point across Kevin Morales and Marc Nickens and I went to a Van Halen concert back in 1980 and I had a pig nose amp strapped to my back and we were out in the parking lot back by the backstage entrance to the largo arena in Lanham (Capital centre) maryland and I could ( back in those days ) play any Van Halen solo note for note , lick for lick and we had this big crowd of people like thousands of rockers all gathering around to watch and listen to me play eruption/spainish fly as they were on thier way into see Van Halen and we were promoting our own local gig down at the stardust in Waldorf , So I was wailing and Kevin and marc were handing out flyers for our concert ! We headed down the ramp to wail in hopes that Van Halen would hear us and want us to jam with them at the concert that night and The manager Of Van Halen ( Ed Lefler )comes out and says Hey kid look you got to get out of here and I was like listen man you got to let us open for your band tonight and He says Look kid , Van Halen only hires bands to open for them that they can blow away they don't want you competing with them so look here's some money ( pulls out a couple a hundreds ) and says here take this Kid you want some money and I ...
